Shamis McGillin is a multidisciplinary artist based in Brooklyn, New York. A graduate of Columbia College Chicago with a BFA in Photography and Fashion Business, McGillin has built a body of work that bridges photography, makeup artistry, and creative direction.

He became recognized for his ongoing self-portrait series MONARX, in which he transforms himself through makeup and costuming to explore themes of queer identity and transformation. His portrait work has been exhibited internationally, and his imagery has appeared in publications such as Vogue Italia, Teen Vogue, Wonderland, and Paper Magazine. He has collaborated with brands including Haus Labs, Rare Beauty, REFY, Benefit Cosmetics, and JVN.
